Hum of the Hive returns for another dance in the heart of town!

Welcoming you to our Winter Solstice Warmer, where you will find an eclectic juicy selection of bass laden dance music, with good company, and delicious food & drinks to compliment. 

As we are approaching the Solstice, and afterwards a time of reflective rest & hibernation; this event is intended to be a celebration of all the good things that have happened this year, and indeed also a letting go, and composting of the bad. 

This is also a birthday celebration, as Pollen Tribe will officially be 8 years old! What a journey it has been, and continues to be; from the original crew members to the new ones, there is a definite common sense that the journey is only really just beginning… So this is indeed a celebration of that, and all that it represents. Give thanks! 

We’re on an ongoing mission to unite different creative characters from the festival circuit who are doing great work; this month we are pleased to welcome in NICO & DJShnoo; two awesome selectas from Glastonbury, with a wealth of experience on the scene. 

DJShnoo - Reggae / Jungle / World / Medicine

DJShnoo is a prolific selecta, with a bottomless treasure chest of tunes. He has a lot of playful energy in his mixes, and the ability to move between different flavours and worlds. He is a regular at numerous festivals including All About Love, Glastonbury, Boomtown, and he broadcasts regular mixcloud sessions for your listening pleasure, click the link below to check him out. 

NICO - Dub / Digital Dancehall / Steppas

Nico is no stranger to sound systems, she has been on the scene for years; from helping to organise infamous dances in her home town of Leeds, with some of the biggest names in dub & reggae, to keeping the dance floors moving on the festival circuit, with her sweet, bass heavy selections. 

HONEYFLOWER SOUNDSYSTEM - Honeyflower Soundsystem provides sound for Pollen Tribe events, with two different style hand-built rigs; inspired by the carnival tradition. We aim to deliver warm, fat bass & hi-fidelity clarity of sound with maximum efficiency. 

GREEN T - Resident Honeyflower Selecta, & Pollen Tribe creative captain; playing a mash up of dub, world, and psychedelic experimental squidgy goodness.

LEA LAZELLE - Lea will be joining in on vocals; with an exquisite gift of improvising soulful jazzy lyrical wisdom, and chaneling her unique light language.

PERFORMANCE ART - Dance performance by Alice To - Alice was sadly unwell last event, so we are happy to say she will be joining us to perform this time instead!

HIVE CAFE - Organic Hot Food, Drinks, & Treats served from opening to close. Lilian and her crew of nourishers bring their delicious food to keep us happy! Always with a pot of caribbean style curry on the hob, with high grade artisan chocolates & other treats, cacao, beverages, & teas to compliment.

- Bare feet are welcome

- This particular event is not designed for kids, although kids are always welcome at our events. Whilst there will be amplified music; we aim for hi-fidelity sound, but we do definitely recommend if you do bring your child that you purchase ear defenders to protect them at any event with amplified music.
